This shrine was damaged by an earthquake and they have rebuild it. But behind this shrine is the Kumamoto Castle and repair works is still in progress, it was badly damaged so i think they need another year to do the job.
Got here just by chance after visiting Kumamoto Castle. Actually, it has a nice view of the Castle from here, alse the reconstruction that is going on. The Shrine itself is interesting and worth pay a visit.
The colorful display will draw you like bees to honey, upon your visit to Kumamoto castle, definitely stop by this active shrine for some photos and observe some Japanese traditions through this shrine.
There is also a small gift shop but only Japanese is displayed...More
