The day tour led by Schingo to Takachiho Gorge and Mount Aso left a great impression in our mind. This is the 1st time we engaged a local tour guide in Japan and it was amazing to learn so much about the culture from Schingo. Throughout the trip, we had good conversations with him and he was also very friendly and accommodating. What surprised me was when he said he is also our photographer for the day. It was out of our expectation to receive such additional service from him. We were grateful that we chose Schingo as our tour guide and will highly recommend him to those who are planning for a trip in Kumamoto.

We went on a 1 day tour at Takachiho Gorge and Mt Aso.
Schinho was engaging through out the whole trip, sharing Japanese culture and his personal experiences. It was entertaining through out the trip. Feel comfortable and safe as he understands the terrain well having grew up in the country side.

Our tour with Shingo led us to Aso National Park, Yatsushiro and Gokanosho. He showed us many facets of the region, further enhanced in color and depth through his stories about history, traditions and local crafts.
Whether it was witnessing Iguza farming in Kumamoto Prefecture, the indomitable power of the Naka-dake or the indescribable Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine - every experience was highly memorable. During our stay at Heike-so we really felt at home and nostalgic, even though it was our first visit there.
Photographers can expect a multitude of perfect photo spots thanks to Shingos excellent knowledge of the region.

I had a wonderful and amazing one day private tour with Gokansho.com led by Mr. Hashizaki Schingo. He was very welcoming to bring us on this road trip to Tachicho Gorge and Mt Aso. He is very fluent in his English and demonstrated strong knowledge within the Kumamoto region and where we are heading to spend our day on. He was friendly and shared with us about Japanese culture and his past work experiences. It was like travelling with a good friend whom we have known for years! I would strongly recommend anyone who wish to tour around Kumamoto or specific places where Kumamoto is the starting point to engage Mr. Schingo as your travel private guide.

GREAT! He gave us a very great experience on one day trip to Mt Aso and Takachiho George. His English is so nice. He is also so friendly. We recommend this guide for anyone who wants a one-day trip to this place.

Our group was there mainly for the volcano, however our guide put so much energy and knowledge into his guiding, that we felt that we had been on more tan one trip. It is obvious that he loves his work, and the Kumamoto Prefecture. He was the guide but also you got the feeling he was enjoying the tour as much as we were. All transportation was right on time.

It’s a great tour after the snow storm the night before,Schingo make us a great day with the beautiful experience in Takachiho Gorge! And then take us to the powerful snowy Mt.Aso !

We visited Japan in November 2022 and did a 3-week roundtrip. In the southern part of Japan we met our guide Shingo. We had a great time and visited a Japanese house, a knifemaker workshop, mountain-villages, suspension bridge and many other interesting places. We learnt quite a lot about Japanese food/customs/religion during our time with Shingo.
We really loved our time in Japan and especially with Shingo!

My family and I went on a day trip to Takachiho Gorge and Mt. Aso. We booked the tour the day before and Schingo responded fast that’s why we were able to secure the tour. He made everything comfortable for us and was very patient with our questions about the tour (and some things we are shy to ask other Japanese haha). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We also had lunch in this cool restaurant Schingo recommended. It was an amazing experience!

Schingo speaks English fluently. He has an answer to every possible question you can ask about the place, its history, geology, customs and traditions and more ! We really loved his sense of humor and the way he describes japanese society. He is very committed and involved. Guiding is not a mere job for him, it's part of his life. He picked us from Kumamoto Ferry terminal, made every moment of this trip very comfortable and was very accomodating and patient when he proposed options for the next steps of our tour. We highly recommend him as a driver and a guide.

Hi is it possible to organize a private tour for 3 people to view Mount Aso and Takachiho Gorge? We will be coming from Kurokawa but at the end of tour we need to be in kurokawa. Do advise.

I signed up for a tour in December. Shingo picked me up in Kuromoto and dropped me off at a train station in Aso that took me back to Kuromoto. I joined two people from Singapore on the trip. He took us to Takachiho Gorge first, then we had a nice Japanese lunch on our way to the top of Mt. Aso. I arranged this by going to his website and saw that the trip had been scheduled and was able to add myself to the tour. He may do private tours, but you would have to contact him about that. I am now a face-book friend with him and saw he was just getting over a case of food poisoning, so he may not be well enough to answer quickly. I suggest continuing to email him. It was a great tour and he was a delightful guide. It was the best way to see both attraction in 1 day, since there is no high speed rail service to those areas.
