They certainly knew how to dress up for the holidays. There was a small outdoor Christmas bizarre with local food and holiday treats. The tourist info people were somewhat helpful, take their advice with a bit of caution.

The AMU Mall is a multi-storey mall with sky wheel on top. There is department store and F&B outlets which makes it a wonderful place to visit. Moreover, there is festive decoration in the foyer area with large number of lights which makes it spectacular.

Formerly known as the Kagoshima Nishi station (Kagoshima West), the station was completely rebuilt as a modern station and opened in 2004 when the Shinkansen line was opened from Kumamoto. Now the Shinkansen line is fully connected to the rest of Japan's shinkansen operations

The station is well- organized for the trains, spacious, and has a lots of shopping, eating and entertainment options. There are sightseeing trains and the Shinkansen, too - it's the southernmost station in Japan for the Shinkansen. The bus to the airport is across the front
