The Shrine, I believe, is part of Kego Park, which is situated adjacent to the busy Tenjin rail station. It is commonplace to find a Shinto shrine in downtown area of Japan, but in most cases, these shrines occupy very little space. The Kego Shrine...More

One of the many shrines that are dotted around Fukuoka. Kego Shrine is certainly worth stopping and enjoying.

This shrine is located in the middle of Tenjin, a very busy area in Fukuoka. But its premises are quiet, and along with Kego Park it forms a kind of oasis. There is also a foot bath, but as I went, it was closed.

We stay at the Solaria Plaza Hotel and this shrine is just next to us. No entrance fee so we just walk in. Very small but nice. We don't know the history here. There are some visitors here. Only need 10 minutes here.

This lovely shrine is right in the middle of the busy commercial and shopping district of Tenjin. It's an oasis of calm in the city. Don't miss the onset foot bath which is tucked away in one side. Very relaxing to sit and soak your...More

One can't help but see Kego Shrine because it's across Solaria Plaza with Kego Park in between. We were strolling from BicCamera when we came upon Kego Shrine by chance.

Fukuoka has many notable shrines, including this one, and we popped in here as it was just across the road from the hotel. Early in the morning, when it was relatively quiet, it was good to take a short stroll (short as it's a small...More
