Walk through the whole park. It is really nice. Cool deer and nice views. There is a lot to see around the park, like the great Buddah and the five-storied pagoda.

It's a nice park (no entry fee), we were there in May and the weather was lovely. The deer are so used to people they can be demanding for the biscuit treats, some will bite your clothes (and even your bum). The city has a...More

Absolute must do in Nara. About a 10 minute walk from the JR station. Carts everywhere that sell crackers for you to feed the deer. Deer can swarm you, so watch out. Todaiji is nearby.

I was in a hostel very close to the park and I went there after my arrival and I really loved the place. I had a huge luck cuz at the same day they had a candle festival there. It was very beautiful.

This was a lovely place, and if you’re in the area have a visit. Our visit to Nara lake park, was probably tainted due to the extremely hot and ‘feels like” 43 deg day. The deer just wanted to veg out and lie in the...More

Me and my friend did a morning stroll through the part and we were left amazed by the quantity of green and the number of deer that lives there.

I wouldn’t make a special trip to Nara just for the deer park, but if you’re coming to Nara anyway to see the temples and shrines, the deer park is an added bonus. The deer belong to the Shinto shrine and are held in high...More

The deer are interesting and entertaining. Grab a seat a watch people feed (and somethings run from) these relatively-tame animals. Some deer bow to the person feeding them to get the snacks (deer crackers) which are available from nearby vendors.

We spent a lovely morning wandering through Nara Park. It is quite a walk from the train station but the town is beautiful to walk through and very quiet. The deer are everywhere but are really only interested in you if you have crackers! We...More

There is a special bus that conducts you from the bullet train station directly to Nara park entry. However even within the park it's a fair amount of walking. To see the Buddha temple too it's a walk, although the deer are... More

It never closes (open 24/7) as there are no gates holding deers in or out however shops, other buildings and temple surrounding or in the park may close anywhere between 4.30pm to 6pm depending on what it is
