DO NOT bother wasting your time or money to go here. We paid 50,000 Yen for round trip bus, entry and safari park bus ride and all we got to do was the safari park bus ride which took about 30mins! If you want to...More
While the Diavlo roller-coaster was pretty awesome, the rest of this theme park was far below average. A large majority of the rides were closed, some were posted at entry, however others weren't, it was quite disappointing. The reasons for giving this 2/5 are because...More
A safari park isn't that common in Japan so it was a nice change from a typical Japanese zoo which is usually just a depressing mix of concrete and cages.
Here you can drive yourself through or go on the park's safari bus which leaves...More
My husband and I went here on our honeymoon. We're currently unable to own pets, so the most exciting thing about Central Park was being able to interact with animals. There's a dog park within the amusement park, and more dogs and other animals within...More
Everything you see in the travel mags!! Beautiful plant life, cats sleeping under the trees (yes you read right cats) Koi swimming in the garden lakes make for a magic and tradition experience. Simply put stunning.
Visiting this park was the one and only complete waste of time, money and effort during all my travels in japan.
Getting there as a non japanese is challenging, but doable. once there you pay 3100 admission, then you are required to pay for literally...More

November is your best bet. Do you have any itinerary plans yet? Kyoto is wonderful in autumn; so are Nara and Nikko. If the goal is to see the colors, then I suggest spreading yourself out, if you have the time. For example, pick locations in various regions, since it's impossible to predict exactly when the colors will peak. As to how much time you need, a lot depends on you. Some people spend one week and manage to get a great tasted for the country. Two weeks is a good amount of time...More

Japanese Alps Itinerary - Help (5 Replies)
Hello all, My wife and I are in Japan for a total of 10 days in Central Japan this August, first at Osaka to see Radiohead at Summer Sonic and then a few days in Kyoto for a few more days. If you had 6 or so days to explore the Japanese Alps, where would you go? I love hiking and new experiences. I'm a bit overwhelm with the choices of places to go. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm still figuring out where to go on my Japan trip. One hike that looks really cool to me is the 8km hike from Magome to Tsumago in Kiso Valley. There are some hikes around Kyoto as well. If you are going to be down now near Tokyo you can always take on Mt. Fuji.
