We road bikes here from near the train station, it was very nice. There was a food festival on at the time in the park so we enjoyed some freshly cooked food under the cherry blossoms then went up the tower for a great view. Utsunomiya reminded me a bit of Canberra in Australia for some reason

The park is very huge and beautiful. There is a tower and you have a nice view of all the city of Utsunomiya. And it is a very long suspension bridge. The kid area is very cool for kids of all ages. There is also a mini zoo, to complete the tour.

Quiet park most throughout the year, but many people come for Hanami, to see cherryblossoms. It's a nice spot for picnic.

Very beautiful park even just after sakura. Peaceful. Good view over Utsunomiya when visiting the tower (190¥). Nice suspension bridge, but not for those who don't like bridges...

Its a great park, with lots to do including picnicing, sports, go karts, hanami and more. Its a great place to take some friends and enjoy a quiet respite from a busy city.

Even during the dead of January when I came to visit, Hachimanyama Park is exhilarating and breathtaking.
Strolling through the park made me excited to return once the blossoms began to bloom in the spring. The park is still walking distance from Utsunomiya station and made my day for this one-day trip to Tochigi.
As I crossed the adventure bridge, I was surprised to find a giant playground that any child would love to spend hours in. I was a bit jealous that I did not go on the playground myself.
It is a great park to visit and quiet as well, so come and enjoy this hidden treasure.

The natural setting with cherry trees is lovely. Parking is limited for large crowds for the cherry blossom festival, but great for everyday visits. Cross the bridge for children to a 2-story tree-top curving slide, a meters long downhill slide, a fountain and waterfall. This was a park we visited with children on a weekly basis.
