Lake Chuzenji is quite a large lake. It's scenic enough but not worth walking around, since it would take a long, long time to walk around the entire thing - I walked for 5 min and had enough. If you want to hire a rowboat...More

Been to Lake Chuzenji and the Kegon Falls before in the fall. In the fall, this is worth seeing. It'll be pretty. Otherwise, though Kegon is an impressive falls, is it worth the price and the time of getting up to Lake Chuzenji? I don't...More

Lake Chuzenji is situated in a beatiful mountin area. There are many possibilities of making wandering trips. Be observant that bus passes back and forth Nikkō have a limited validity if you leave the area around Lake Chuzenji.

In the morning the lake reflected morning sunshine and we had clear view of the lake. On the way back from Yuomoto hot spring I walked back to Lake Chuzenji bus station from the Ryuzu fall around the part of the lake – around 35-45...More

It was nice that we came here on a sunny day. Although in the afternoon it started to rain and It got foggy so we could not see much of anything anymore. But I was happy that I got to experience it during the day.

Lots of lovely views, you don't have to walk far from your car or coach. Often included as part of a trip to Nikko, not sure it would be worth a special trip on its own.

Amazing views from the top of the rope way, go out on the lake on a speed boat or in paddle boats for a great time. The area is full of onsen (Hot springs), great hiking trails and Mt Nantai, a difficult climb during the...More

We did this today as well as Kegon Falls. Despite horrific weather it was still a great trip and I can imagine the scenic beauty on a sunny day. Very easy to get to from Nikko. Unfortunately due to fog we couldn't see much.

Imagine Brighton, Blackpool or Great Yarmouth during winter - depressing and desolate. Well, that's this lake for you. It may be better looking during warmer months when some people are around.

This review is for an October visit. I imagine the area is much more lively at other times, particularly in summer, and during fall foliage season, which is typically in November. But in early October, fall foliage was just starting to change and Lake Chuzenji...More
