There is a big pond in this park, and many people are enjoying fishing.
There is a jogging course around the pond, and many runners are enjoying running.
There are two fountains, Uki Island and Benten Island in the pond.
Uki means a floating.
Benten means Saraswati (god of wealth, music, eloquence, and water).
There is a statue of "Urawa-Unako chan" at the foot of the bridge across Benten Island.
"Urawa-Unako chan" is a mascot character to promote "Urawa of Eel", it was designed by Takashi Yanase, famous as the author of Anpanman.
Anpanman is a Japanese picture book series, and has been adapted into an anime entitled Soreike! Anpanman (Let's Go! Anpanman), which is one of the most popular anime series in Japan.

There are few open spaces and parks around Urawa and Bessho Numa provides some parkland and a reasonable sided lake with a number of elderly fishermen dangling their fishing poles in the murky water. There was also a very small shrine on a piece of land that juts out into the lake. A pleasant break from the apartments, houses and traffic.

Many people were fishing, there were ducks and flowers, a Saitama-Stadium-roof alike 'thing', a shrine and some places, where you could do sports. If I lived in Urawa with my family, I'd probably go there on weekends sometimes...
