This is a lovely little town and museum. Definitely different than touring the bigger cities. It has touristy shops but they have definitely tried to keep to the history and it doesn't;t have the big city tall building feel of other Japanese cities.

Kawagoe is a great little place to visit, much nicer than some of the more noted attractions. The traditional clay walled stores are beautiful and surrounded by several decent restaurants and street food outlets, along with the usual souvenir stores. The museum is very compact but full of interesting stuff, enough for maybe a good half hour visit.

Really great museum, learned a lot about the storage warehouses that lines the street. Recommended to everyone.
