Crea Mall is a standard Japanese open air mall located next to Kawagoe Station. This is a nice mall near Tokyo International University where the students often frequent. There are food options, clothing stores (including a secondhand clothing store will good quality items), and game centers with purikura (print club) that is often frequented. On certain Sundays there is a flea market, though I never went.

If you are in the area (or especially living in the area), you should stop by. But no need to go out of your way to visit to shop here if you're just passing through.

This is actually a road for pedestrian with shops in both sides which you have to traverse on foot from Kawagoe station to the Kurazukuri zone. The shops range from a large one with souvenir items , local sweet potato based snacks, cafes and all kinds of shops. It is bright and pleasant in the evening.

Some people call this place "local" like it is a bad thing. We have been to other shopping centers in Tokyo area and when it targets foreigners the price goes up!
The food prices are very cheap here...great little ramen and dumpling restaurants dot the walkway. Cheaper shops for shoes, purses and knick knacks and a small 100 yen store. Worth the walk and it is where you walk when walking to old town from the train station. Enjoy the walk and enjoy.

A very average Japanese mall, with lots of stores, in multi-story buildings. Variety of prices, but mostly expensive and not worth one's while. Would not recommend. I believe this would be more attractive to locals.

There are many places to have fun like Karaoke, game centers, cafés, restaurants, and many more. There are also many of each so if you dont like the price at one place, just walk 20 ft and im sure you will find another place very similar. also, dont be afraid to go to the higher floors, they often have very nice places.

From the train station, you will walk through this modern open air shopping street before reaching Kawagoe Ichibangai Shopping Street, which is where the old era buildings cum shops are located.
This is a very, very, very long straight line shopping street ( with shops on both sides) - seems endless as one continues walking. Definitely few kilometres long. At the end of this street is where the old era buildings/shops are located. And you need to walk back the same long way to the train station. Unless you take a bus to the station. The place & roads ( old era side) are jam packed with tourists & locals.
Basically this is not much different from other modern shopping streets in Tokyo or Japan. But there were some nice shops.

If you are walking to the Kurasukuri warehouse area from the East exit of the JR Kawagoe station, you will almost immediately walk through this typical modern open air shopping street with a lot of bargain shops. Whilst many of the shops are the same as can be found elsewhere, there are a few local ones and being pedestrian-only it was a pleasant 10 minute walk.

The old historic buildings in Kawagoe were excellent and unlike any other place visited in Japan but the tourist style souvenire and local food shops found at ground level were fairly typical of those found across Japan. This area was fairly standard and not special but still interesting.

This was my first modern Japanese style shopping street experience thus it was interesting for me but after that, seeing many other ones, it is absolutely not a place worth to visit. Only if you are local.

We used this as a orientating point from the station, we took the train from Tokyo (Shinagawa station) using our JR RailPass. the shops weren't too interesting to us, after browing in tokyo's ginza district, and yokohama's motomachi district. I would suggest getting through this as quickly as possible, shops are uninspiring except for one specialising in tea
