The building itself is the main attraction as it is built partially submerged in the hill that makes up its expansive lawn. The outer building houses a warm wooden framed structure with corner less curved ceilings and large round openings in the walls. No matter what art is on exhibit the building is a pleasure walk around and enjoy inside.... More

Yokosuka isn't a particularly beautiful city. Lots of concrete. It was surprising to find the beauty of this museum and its setting outside of town. It's a modern art museum, so some pieces I look at and wonder why? But, I enjoy seeing their exhibits. I am not an art expert. There is a gallery separate from the main building... More

It was a surprising venue with a variety of genres from contempory to Art Deco to impressionist art. The very setting is lovely enough with it's mesmerizing views of the ocean across a plain of grass.

I had a really great time enjoying the paintings and drawings. My only disappointment is that there is not place for taking pictures for souvenirs.

Wonderful small museum overlooking the bay. The building itself is worth going to see. There is a cafe for a snack or lunch.
