It is a wonderful park even in the winter. Very clean, well kept and next to the water, mall and a coffee shop. It has so many rose bushes that we can't wait to see it i the spring !

Verne Park was built on the site of a shipyard from the 1880's. It's located on the water stretching from JR Yokosuka Station to the U.S. Navy Base. The park was designed in the French style with a long boardwalk, winding walks between flower beds, and a large central fountain. The high-rise ION Mall (formerly Daiei) anchors the end next... This park runs along the harbor, and is a good place to walk. Excellent paving and paths for the mobility impaired. There is not much in the way green space, just shrubs and small flower beds running beside the paths. However, if you are walking from the Yokosuka JR train station over to the shopping plaze it is a great... More

In 2015, I arrived in Yokosuka via Keikyu Line, and departed on the JR Line, taking time to stroll through this park in that direction. This year, I did the opposite, so I got see things from a different viewpoint. Apart from the Nimitz-class carrier USS Carl Vinson docked on the other side of the Naval base, it looked like... More

The park is located just near the navy base and waters so you will see a lot of ships. I was lucky enough to see a submarine when i was there!

The park is located beside Yokosuka U.S. Navy base and Japanese maritime self defense force base. We can see ships and submarines. There are many kinds of roses. Roses are full bloom now. May must be the best season to visit. 公園はアメリカ海軍基地と自衛隊の基地のそばにあって、船と潜水艦が見られる。 バラにはたくさんの種類があっていま満開だ。訪れるには5月が一番いい時期だと思う。

Verny Park is near Daiei. There are signs that say not to skateboard but you will definitely come across skateboarders (I personally don't mind). During diffferent seasons, different flowers bloom. This place is good for a short walk. One time, while I was walking at night, in the water next to Verny Park, a school of jumping fish was swimming... More

Nice place in busy yokosuka to go and just walk, run, or sit and take in the view of the bay. Japanese and US Navy ships are moored in the area making for some good pics. The flower garden is one of a kind and plenty of places for the dog to go as well.

I had complete a morning visit to Mikasa Park and eaten lunch nearby. Instead of heading back to Yokosukachuo Station, I decided to risk a walk in the high heat to JR Yokosuka Station to see if there were any navy ships in port to photograph. Turns out, there were quite a few docked at the base, including a pair... More
