This hop on hop off bus service starts from bus stop no : 4 at the bus terminal at Sakuragicho train station. There are two routes, the C route which covers the older part of Yokohma (eastern side) and the M route which covers the modern Minato Miria area. A day ticket on both (unlimited rides) costs 550 yen (it is called the Minato Burai ticket)

For 33.00USD (equivalent Yens) you can travel on both routes covering this big amazing beautiful city. Buses run on schedule; on the clock. Most of the time they are full and there is no place to seat. The drivers are courteous and very helpful even with language barriers. The routes cover a lot and one day might not be enough if you want to spend time in Chinatown.

¥500 for an all day ticket is excellent value for money. Visits all the best tourist attractions. If you’re on a cruise, the bus stops at the cruise terminal. Hop on, hop off. Take extra time in Chinatown. Absolutely wonderful.

We bought our "Minato Burari" tickets (500Yen ea) from our hotel which was very handy. The red "Akai Kutsu" buses (which are made in the image of trams) have 2 different routes – Route "C" runs through the old part of Yokohama (including Chinatown) whilst Route "M" is through the newer Minato Mirai area. We were on the very first bus (getting on at Yamashita Park) and it was standing room only and the same thing happened when leaving Sakuragicho Railway Station .. mind you it was during Golden Week so Yokohama was full of people. The bus stops were well marked. Most of the route info on the TV monitor on the bus was in Japanese but we worked it out from the photos. It’s a great way to see all the major “must-see” places and to get a snapshot of Yokohama.

Great time to be on the red bus for tourist to see beautiful flowers of the months. Saw lots of roses at Minato Mieru no Koen or Harbor view park. You get to visit the lovely garden and also see an amazing view of the harbor on a great weather day. Advice is to get the day pass from Sakuragicho station, cost 500¥ entitles you to a whole day on the bus which allows you to get on and off the various tourist destination. You should stop by the Red Brick warehouse which is adjacent to the Marine Walk, Chinatown biggest in Japan with 130 overs shops, Motomachi the expensive shopping street, Yamashita Park. Right now a promotion is on. There is a discount booklet for discount at various places food and attractions too.
