相鉄線・瀬谷駅北口から徒歩数分のところにある瀬谷小学校の傍にある「長天寺」は八つの幸せをもたらすとされる末広がりでも縁起の良い横浜八福神の一つで臨済宗建長寺派の寺院で室町時代創建のだるま大師を祀り本堂の前には達磨大師の像があります。
境内はこじんまりとしていますが厳かな雰囲気があり人気も無くお勧めです。

このお寺は、瀬谷小学校の北東に隣接する位置にあります。
横浜瀬谷八福神のひとつなので、これまでに新年の祈願で訪れたことはありますが、今回は初夏のシーズンに訪れました。
長天寺は臨済宗建長寺派寺院ですが、開山されたのは応永元年（1394年）だそうです。
明治時代には瀬谷村の村役場が当寺客殿に設置されていたことが、境内の案合板に記されていました。
尚、太平洋戦争の忠霊塔も境内に設置されていました。

相鉄線瀬谷駅から徒歩5分程度、小学校の裏手にあります。長天寺は横浜瀬谷八福神のひとつで、達磨大師としても有名です。本堂の前では石像の達磨さんが迎え入れてくれます。

相鉄線瀬谷駅から近いお寺です。ダルマ大師の御神体がが祀られています。ダルマ大師は実在したお坊さんだそうで何度でも起き上がる七転八起が縁起が良いとされているそうです。
