From the moment I opened the metal front door, I was in awe. The Dystopian Kowloon vibe is really cool - perhaps it's not worth going all the way to Kawasaki if you just want to snap an Instagram photo - but if you play arcade games, this is definitely somewhere where you can burn a few hours without realising.

We managed to play shooters including Silent Hill, Time Crisis, Let's Go Jungle!: Lost on the Island of Spice, and the very cool, dual-weilding game Gunslinger Stratos, old-school classic Dungeons and Dragons, old-school Street Fighter with big, punchable buttons, Japanese rhythm games MAIMAI and Jubeat, and the most insane game of air hockey I have had in my life, alongside 4 goes on the grabber/try your luck machines (my friend won a remote control car). Between 2 of us, we only burned through less than 2500 yen combined (about £8 each) and had killed over 3 hours. I wish we'd headed down there earlier so we could have spent longer before rushing for the last train back! They had many more games I wish I could have tried but simply didn't have time for, including a whole section of old-school arcade games alongside some much newer stuff.

There are also many insanely skilled players in there - I was in awe of some of the guys on the dancing machines and rhythm machines playing on seemingly impossible difficulties and moving like lightning. However, we were still very comfortable and had great fun wandering around and trying out new machines (even though we were incapable of reading the Japanese menus)

Definitely worth the trip

As a side note: it's over 18s only and smoking indoors

This is a cool place if you have exhausted what else Tokyo has to offer, but I wouldn’t sacrifice seeing other sights simply to see the “Walled City” recreation unless you also intent to play some of the arcade games. The problem is that the Walled City bit is pretty small, the photos make it seem a lot larger than it is. You’ll be done seeing it all in less than five minutes. I’m glad I saw it, but also glad I didn’t miss other stuff to do so.

This arcade is definitely not like any you've been before. I'd give it 5 stars except that it was slightly out of the way. If you have the time, it's great fun for a couple hours. The pictures alone make it well worth it.

If you also found this place on Atlas Obscura, it looks just like the photos, except you're not allowed to take photos inside. It's a multi-storey game center, with arcade games, darts, and billiard. The cool Kowloon Walled City decor is just on the one side and most of the game center bit is just "normal". Most games are just 100 yen. You have to be 18 to enter.

If you have half a day, totally worths to visit this place out of the world! It’s a video game arcade, on 5 floors, but made as an old Hong Kong city (the walled city of Kowloon). It’s a mad place where you loose the perception of time. Well i’m not in videogames, and i loved it, so if you like that kind of games, it will be your best friend for life.

I really wanted to come here as it was a tribute to the old "Walled City" in Kowloon, HK.
This did not disappoint at all!
The game machines have been lovingly restored and so well maintained.
I grew up in the 80s and so have great memories of playing so many games the first times around and I fantastic afternoon there.
There are other floors with Pachinko, Pachislo, pool tables etc, but its the arcade machines which are the money.

If you are into gaming machines this is the place to go. Would not recommend just for the visuals. To be a bit more precise I was expecting a bit more enterior madness with the pictures from trip advisor in mind, but sadly only the entrance floor and a part of the first floor are decorated in this awesome style you can see here. The rest is pretty standard.

I came to Anata no Warehouse expecting a so-so arcade whose only reason to visit was the unique styling, but I was very wrong. This place absolutely holds its own with the Taito Game Stations in the center of Tokyo. What’s more, I’m certain the UFO catcher games here are much easier to win than in more centralised arcades - although I may have just been on a very lucky streak. If you’re in Kawasaki and like arcades, you owe it to yourself to check it out!

I had the opportunity to visit Anata no Warehouse in its last weeks, just days only, before they closed for good. If given any other days, you would be able to appreciate the many detail works that goes into this building and the attention to it. I was however unlucky in that with the number of people that seem to take forever just to take one picture and are seemingly in constant re-take mode like a Director unsatisfied with a single scene, and have to take it until perfection.

There are 5 storey in total to this place, the exterior and the first level are intricate and mysterious, almost like you are walking through the era of the game "Devotion", sound effects playing in the background to add to the vibe, as though recreating a certain busy hour in Old Kowloon if it is still around.

It was said that some of the designs and items, like signage, posters etc, are directly taken from Old Kowloon itself before it disappeared for good as well, perhaps around about 14 to 18 years or so ago, according to my travel buddy.

Anata no Warehouse, is an amazing place, with alot of games in varieties, and not too mention spanning across different content and console models. I get to relive my childhood again with some of the nostalgic games that they have to offer, a total blast from the past.

The place also includes games for leisure and betting, along with physical games, like darts and ping pong table as well.

The design and place is one of a kind. It will for sure be missed. 😢😭

I was really disappointed upon learning that the real Kowloon was bulldozed by the state, so stumbling across this place was a godsend! I love urban exploration and arcades so you can see why I'd love it so much. Parts of it were oddly evocative of Midgar from FFVII as well. Visit this place before it gets bulldozed too!
