Mt Fuji, Hakone, Lake Ashi Cruise and Bullet Train Day Trip from Tokyo

4,630 reviews
Navigating Japan’s public transport system can often be a daunting task. Let a guide do the work for you on this tour of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi by coach and bullet train, which saves you hours in travel time. Ascend to the Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station; ride on the Komagatake Ropeway, one of Japan’s highest aerial tramways; and take a cruise on Lake Ashi, part of Hakone National Park.

You need to walk a quite steep road for this temple but its very nice though. Every now and then there are little monuments located. Once you reached the temple its silent, cosy and green. The temple is a nice to see and if you have some spare time just go for the climb!

My travel buddies and I ended up going to Amidaji Temple as a sort of "Plan B" to some more logistically challenging plans that didn't quite work out during our stay in Hakone, but this was a "Plan B" that gets an "A" grade from me. While the temple itself is beautiful in its own right, I think the real magic is the mountain climb through dense forest to reach the temple: calm, serene, and dotted with sekibutsu statues. Definitely a good way to spend a couple hours walking on a cool and clear Hakone spring morning.
