    Good Family Fun
Fantastic activity for the family and kids to enjoy. Great hour spent making ourselves and our loved ones something special. The little charms all have special meaning which you can connect too. Definitely will recommend.

    A fun midday activity
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. I've made beads once before, but this was much more guided, so the beads came out perfect. I made a pair of earrings, which I absolutely love. From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience and I definitely recommend it.

Worth the walk up the hill
Worth the walk up the hill from Gora station. Don’t go straight to the cable car, instead go out of the station & walk up the hill to Gora Park. The glass head house is beautiful & the staff kind & helpful. I made earrings & it was a lovely relaxing experience plus I got a unique souvenir at the end.

    Fun morning inside Gora Park
What a fun experience! Teens n 7n up enjoyed making their own glass beads. They are patient with us during the process. It’s a relatively easy to follow experience. There are also many accessory choices to choose from. We made key chain n necklaces. Highly recommended.

    Fun glass blowing experience
My partner and I had a great time doing the glass blowing experience. It took about 30 minutes for both of us to make a mug and you didn't need any prior experience. A lovely thing to do on a rainy day and they will ship your finished items to your hotel about 4 or 5 days later.

    Craft House Great house
Had a great time! Well worth a visit. We did both pottery and glass blowing and we really enjoyed it. Would be great for families or couples. You get to keep what you make but they need to post it to you afterwards so try and do it early in your trip so that it arrives at the end of your trip at the hotel you selected.

Gora Park isn't too special, but the Craft House here is probably its highlight if you like learning how to make Japanese crafts. They offer a variety of crafts, such as glass blowing and pottery. Most require you to make a second trip out here to pick up your finished product.

They ship items overseas. It cost me AU$150 for EMS. The craft was worth $400. I was told to wait for 2~3 months. I waited for 2.5 months before giving them a call. I was told to wait a bit longer, but by the time the parcel was already sent back to Japan and lost. I complained that they should have notified me when the parcel was shipped, with a tracking number and estimated delivery date. Their response was that "it wasn't their responsibility" and that "they did not discuss or agree to send a notification. " ...very disappointing service and arrogant response from Craft House.

The Hakone Craft House is conveniently located in the lovely Gora Park (see separate review). . Beside looking
at exhibited art crafts like beads jewelry , various glass artifacts and pottery , you can join classes in the complex and learn to prepare art work by yourself . The Craft House offers a very pleasant , cool and inviting atmosphere , although it can be somewhat crowded (with kids and grown-ups .
Mind you : There are entry fees to the Gora Park , or free for Hakone Free Pass holders .

Experience is the best souvenir. Craft house is a dream place where you can do pottery wheel, pottery handbuilding, glass blowing, and lampwork beads. They have trainers to assist and teach you all of these artworks. Though it comes with a price, the overall experience is worth it! The place is well equipped with the right tools. Even the glass blowing is safe for the kids to try. You can get to take home your finished products though some of them requires you to come back after a day or two. Shipment to your own country is available too. The staff are the friendliest. Their main concern is for you to get the most out of your experience. They are there to make their craft known more than anything else. We will never forget our experience in Craft House. Should we come back to Japan, one of our stops will definitely be Craft House.

Note that, although this isn't mentioned on any websites we could find, you must pay for entry to the park in order to visit the Craft House.

Having walked around the park we popped into the Crafthouse and took to the glass blowing class. A very enjoyable experience and hands on. They do ship items home for you but there is a charge which varies and it is risky. We had our pieces shipped to our last hotel, they arrived very well packed and intact and are now at home. Worth it.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. The staff and I would like to thank you for choosing our place during your precious time here. I'm glad to hear that. We would recommend trying pottery for your next visit. Our warm hospitality awaits your return sometime soon.
