We got here using our Hakone Free Passes with some help from a friendly bus driver. It’s an interesting collection and we thought it worth the detour. We also had an excellent lunch ordering some set menus.

We had our own car, so not a problem for us, but the Pola is a bit out of the way and I'm not sure how you get here without your own transport unless you are on a guided tour.

Perhaps I had too high of expectations after all the good reviews, but maybe I just didn’t appreciate the current special exhibit of glassware. For me, it was not worth the trip out, even though the building itself was quite nice.

There cannot be many art museums that you can see Monet, Renoir, Cezanne etc paintings next to each other and get so close you can see the paint strokes. Truly amazing. A little pricey however worth the visit.
