I have been here during January. Its very huge park. It takes whole day to view all the scenery around. You can view whole city from its observation deck. Mount oyama view is awsome. If you are leaving near Hon atsugi you may travel by bycycle as well.

1st trip I did by myself here in Japan, easy to find and explore solo. Weather was perfect for hiking around and numbered points were easy to follow and figure out where you are. While adventuring a came across the monkeys known in the park, while a little skeptical to pass through them due to seeing youtube videos of people getting mugged by monkeys these ones were fine. They were all collard and none of them got close enough for me to feel uncomfortable. Definitely one of my best memories here in Japan, walking through a road full of monkeys!
All in all very nice nature hike...hike because it had some killer uphill and downhill slopes but had an awesome time none the less. I don't usually hike but this is totally doable for anyone as long as they have the motivation to go!
