This statue commemorates the journey of Mitsukuni Tokugawa who disguised himself as a common traveller and toured the domain to see for himself how the people lived. It is located right outside the Mito railway station and is very easy to find.

It is easy to spend it relaxing very much.
It is not a sightseeing spot, but a city coexists with nature

This is a statue to commemorate a famous guy in Japanese history. When people come to Mito to visit Kairakuen you’ll pass this statue.

We were looking at a nearby clock tower when a lovely Mito resident indicated the importance of this statue. We had actually read up about the statue and were about to look at it.
It was charming to have a local highlight its importance to people in Mito and Ibaraki.
While the signage is all in Japanese, we were lucky enough to have read up about the statue on TripAdvisor and enjoyed having our photo taken and seeing this historical statue.

Well, speaking of Mito, speaking of Mito Komon and Mito Komon, Tsuno-san and Suke-san are like those three bronze statues in front of Mito Station.

A statue of Mito Komon stood at the north exit of Mito Station. It is said that there are several statues of Komon-sama in Mito City, but this one, Komon-sama, is accompanied on both sides by the traveling Suke-san and Kaku-san, and it is the appearance of that “Komon-sama Gotogyo” that was shown in a TV drama.
That's a great photo spot.
