Disappointing Autumn Display
Sep 2021
The Cosmos were lovely white & pink blowing in the breeze. The entrance was clean and the Begonia design welcoming in full bloom. We came to see the Dahlias, but they were disappointing.
This place seems to have been hard-hit by Covid, very few people visiting, so with the limited entrance fees & without government funding it looks like they had to lay off a lot of staff. Usually fall has some pretty good Rose blooms but the gardens were overrun with weeds and needed pruning.

Lots of space for children to run. A small cafe served some snacks but not much choice. Free Parking. Clean restrooms. We will try again in the future. Maybe winter illumination...

2度目の訪問

2月下旬に訪れたので、花桃が咲いていました。また、大きな雛壇も飾られていて素敵でした。
春に訪れればもっと色々な花が見れそうです。

There were Prunus persica blooming becouse I went to go there at late February.

In spring, a lot of flowers in this garden will be in full bloom.

Flower park for the family
May 2018 • Family
Went there few years ago purely for flowers, this time returned with kids. Still have the amazing collection of flowers, especially roses.
Kids quickly got bored with flowers, we sent them to the water features and they enjoyed getting wet. We tried the rose flavored ice-cream before we left, it tasted a bit weird at the beginning but we finished them all. Would love to go back there at night time when kids are bigger.

I could spend long hours here!
Mar 2018 • Couples
If you are in the city, you should add Gunma Flower Park in your itinerary. I like to spend long hours just sitting under the tree and read good books, after I took some many photos for my blog. And also appreciate the natural scents of these gorgeous flowers, its like in a fairytale.

Night show is fabulous
Nov 2017 • Family
We went here for the light show at night that occurs in November and December. We were amazed. It’s gorgeous and has all sorts of different light displays including a dynamic light show every ten minutes on the bridge. There’s a park stamp system where if you visit all seven stations you get a free hot beverage of your choice. That’s perfect after a cold and blustery night in the park. Inside the green houses there are awesome displays. Highly recommend. We spent over two hours here and enjoyed it.

Plenty to keep everyone happy here
Sep 2015 • Friends
We came here midweek during term-time, so it was quite empty - arguably a good time to get round any attraction. We walked around several areas, starting with a terraced fountain area; then up one of the towers to get an aerial view. Early autumn, there was an economy of colour, green, maroon and white in this area. The greenhouse complex offered themes from Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico and Brazil. We stopped for hirei-curry-katsu in the on-site restaurant overlooking display fountains, then went on to explore the rose garden, English garden, rock garden, kids' area and the current draw, a dahlia presentation.
Considering you can get in here for a few hundred yen, this is an absolute bargain, the children's area is huge with lots of play areas, a maze, etc. And such a sense of peace in the various themed gardens. Also, it's very disabled-friendly. Although there are many tiered areas with steps (and usually handrails) there's always a gentle-sloping walkway for those with walking sticks or wheelchair users, and there's a tourist train service, so you can get a narrated ride round the estate.
It's refreshing to see a place like this without commercialisation being rammed down your throat, I salute whatever organisation made this possible (probably Maebashi city council), though it has to be said that the place looks a little under-invested - the English garden, though retaining many quintessential English features, looked as though it had been left to languish a bit.
Bargain plants available from the on-site shop at the exit.
You'll need to research the buses if you are not driving.
Well worth a visit.

Nice place to go
Jun 2013 • Couples
It has a complete collection of various flower from Japanese to European species.
However transportation from the nearest station (more than 1km) is not really convenient for foreigners. There is Furusato Bus, however, to get the benefit of this service, at least one should be able to speak basic Japanese.
