Although this place is not a favorite as other tourist attractions in Tokyo, but this place has its own uniqueness. City life Irayasu around the 1950s resurrected here. You can see how the feel of the life of that period, either from wooden buildings, boats, and traditions of local communities. There is no fee or admission to enter this area.

We had difficullty to find the correct bus stop to take the bus to Urayasu Local Museum from Kasai Subway, fortunately we didn't give up easyly and we reached the Museum at the end. We are the only group of seven members there during that morning, we enjoyed to learn the shipbuilding, cultures, etc there. There have many old time childhood games, we enjoyed and recalled our childhood. Not only these, the most surprise was the super friendly person-in-charge allowed us to try on their trandisional Japanese Kimono, it was really impressed and marked us an unforgettable experience! Thanks Madams for helping us to put up the Kimono and allowed us to take many pretty photos. Our children enjoyed playing various old times games there!

It's actually a little disappointing that the space given for the museum is rather small, especially since they recreated the old Urayasu so well.

Hi, I am visiting Tokyo for the first time and would like to visit Urayasu Local Museum with my children. How do I get to the museum from Maihama Station? Thank you for your reply.

There are several city buses from Maihama station every 15-20 min. Travel time is about 20 min. Nearest stops to museum are Urayasu City Hall or Urayasu Folk museum.
