The garden is a great introduction to Japan's Zen gardens. The walk is easy and green with plenty of water bodies and some well oriented spaces.

We visited the park on 24th March 2019. Although it was in the mountain of Shinshoji Temple, cherry blossoms were already blooming in the park. It may be because this area was warm, being protected by other trees and the temple buildings.

Japan is amazing but very crowded. The afternoon we visited the park was perfect. The best scenery I have seen in the country, quiet and peaceful with great walking paths. We felt like we were the only ones there exploring new territory. You couldn’t wait...More

I went first thing in the morning and I was the only one there . Listening to the Chirping Birds, the fish swimming in the water and watching the turtle sunbathing on rocks, just clears your mind from it all. There is nothing better than...More

Take some time to visit the park that is associated with the temple. Good for all seasons - plum and cherry blossoms in Spring, beat the heat in Summer and the Autumn foliage is spectacular and if you are lucky, snow in Winter.

When one has a 6-7 hour layover in Tokyo's Narita airport, its difficult to get to downtown Tokyo and have time to see anything. Instead, getting out to Narita for a few hours is a perfect way to get fresh air and see some beautiful...More

The Narita temple grounds are more extensive than one might realize. Spring thru Fall is best since the experience is all outdoors.

Visiting in end November allowed perfect cool weather that made the nature walk enjoyable. There are a good number of elderly Japanese folk using professional cameras and tripods around the park capturing shots- as you will see from my photos, the autumn leaves are gorgeous....More

Narita is more like a day trip. So long as you have already scheduled what you want to see and do in Tokyo then 2-3 days of downtime is possible in Narita.

I don't know if it is forbidden or not, but actually, I did not see anybody eating at the park. There are some areas to seat and rest, and besides that there is a cosy restaurant where you can have something to eat.
