Japanese baseball, in comparison with baseball in the US, is an all-encompassing experience where organised fan crews play a big part in the ambiance of the stadium. Regardless of the score line, the fan crews from each team will show their support tirelessly with chants, songs and calls, most of the times specific to each player on their roster. The... More

Overall I would say the feel of the game and the quality of players was equivalent to an American minor league game. The stadium itself is very nice and walking distance from the train stop. In this area is a mall/shopping district so you can make a half day out of coming here if you are staying outside Chiba (I... More

Marine Field was great, and if I hadn't gone to the Seibu Dome I would have to say that it sets the standard for Japanese baseball. The seats are affordable, the commute is easy, and the games are fun!

Yes, this stadium is a trip away from Tokyo, but it was worth it. Marines a great team to watch play. Small stadium, so every seat is a good one. Fans are real baseball fans.

This is a great stadium with some great street food outside, but inside the food is average. The game itself was high quality and the crowd was very entertaining (a very different to any game I have seen in the U.S). I found purchasing tickets online was very difficult, unless I was prepared to pay a $60 fee which is... More

Chiba Lotte Mariners won their last championship in 2005 but there is still a sense of history and reverence for the successful team, with a monument at the front of the stadium with bronze hand prints of the successful team. It all looks a bit tired and forlorn like their current performance.

went to a game here in July to see the Chiba Marines. We pre-purchased tickets so had very good seats. The atmosphere of the stadium was great and everyone very friendly. Beer kegs carried around through the crowd, so very good fresh beer "on tap". Lots happening and everyone made sure that we were involved. Will definitely go to another... More
