This shopping outlet is adjacent to a rail station. A rail ride from Tokyo central takes about 30 minutes. The place seems quite popular with locals. Like all outlets, it has a collection of specialty shops selling branded apparel and shoes. Also, like others, while prices are reasonable, the latest models are not commonly found here. Nevertheless, the place is spacious, clean and airy. A comfortable place to spend an afternoon shopping.

This Mitsui outlet is great. Although it is not big, it has all the important brands, and it is a real outlet. Especially the quality of the products is very good and meets Japanese standards. No wonder most of them are Japanese shopping. Big sports brands include Puma, Nike, and Coach. And the transportation is convenient. You can take the Keiyo Line and get off at Kaihin Makuhari Station (so close to Tokyo Disney’s Maihama Station)

As we were staying in Maihama area and its only 7- 8 stop away from Maihama, so it was worth visiting but we you are staying in main Tokyo, then not worth coming this far as the shopping is not that cheap like outlet in US etc.
Its surely cheaper then Tokyo department stores. There are only few famous brand like Kate spade, Edwin, Nike, Adidas, Coach.
Baiscally its more local brands. Its not that huge that you need more then 1/2 day here.
For Asians ,its ok as the prices are cheaper compare to thier country outlet but if your Amercian, European or Australian etc where outlet malls are much cheaper.
On the whole its not really worth going out of your way until and unless you r in that area.

By far Coach Outlet shop ,In this outlet Mall has the most terrible customer service there is!!!
My sister and I went to buy a matching pair of shoes
We got the right size ,we tried it on (on one feet to say the least ,which most people usually do)
We paid for it and we were both reminded of the No return policy
And of course we understood since it wasn't our first time to buy from them
Once we got out of the store there's a bench located just outside only a few steps away
No less than a minute
We decided to wear the matching pair of shoes we bought , just imagine our excitement and ended up being disappointed
Unfortunately for my sister the shoe she bought doesn't fit
which is odd because the left fits perfectly but the right doesn't ,it's a size smaller although what's written inside the shoes says differently
We decided to go back to the store to tell them the problem
And the sales lady was like "did you try the shoe on before buying?!"
We answered "yes, we did! The problem is one pair of the shoes is smaller "
Then she said " there's a no return , policy here"
Once again we answered " we know that! But the problem is the shoe you gave us which we end up buying has defect
If it's a bag with a stain, we wouldn't have a problem because we can still use it
But it's a Shoe! How can you end up wearing it if the other pair fits perfectly and the other one is one size smaller"
She gave us this annoyed look then told us to wait
She went inside this stock room
(As we waited we noticed that the shoes we bought is no longer on display
They hide everything already , even the same ones with different designs.)
It took alteast 3 minutes...
Then some guy came out introduced himself as the "Manager" who looks annoyed at us already
Told us again that there's a strict no return policy and that they're just going to return our money back for the shoe coz that's the largest size they've got
And that there's no other pair of shoe they can sell us with the same design
By this time I am already really pissed off
We don't want to actually return the shoes if there wasn't a problem with it
We don't want the money either because even if they gave us back the money
they wouldn't sell us
The same shoe anymore because they already hide it inside there stock room
We just wanted the shoe that's it!
I told the manager do you still have the same size inside maybe we can try it on
So then we can know if it's the same from the once we have with defect
He insisted that it's the same, that nothing will change even If we try a different pair
I told him that we're the customer atleast show some respect from the way you treat us
Take out the one you have hidden in your stock room and then we'll see
The arrogant manager just gave us a smug look!
After so much deliberation
They ended up taking out a new pair from the stock room
My sister tried it on and viola!
Both left and right shoe fits perfectly not unlike the ones we end up buying!
As we leave with the newly exchanged pair of shoes we told the manager of their poor customer service and that because of such experience with them for so many years of patronizing the brand and the shop we don't think well ever come back
And you know what the Manager said
Instead of apologizing , he said with a smug face
It's ok with us if you don't came back
As we are about to step out the door
Once again I glanced at the manager and the sales lady
And they were actually laughing at us!
Grrrrrr!! The worst ever
My blood is boiling would've wanted to punch their faces
To those who are planing to buy a pair of shoe from this branch
MAKE SURE TO TRY BOTH SHOES on left and right!!
You never know if yours will end up with defects like the one we had
Because with all the rudeness we've encountered it's just not Worth it!!
NOT worth it at all!!
The Worst Customer Service!!

The Mitsui Outlet in Makuhari is not as crowded as the one in Gotemba which is a plus point. They do have more than 100 stores and some premium names too. But the attraction is the discounts - their clearance items can go up to 70% off - many are like 50% off the regular price.
One star buy for me was the Seiko watch which was about 35% cheaper than Yodobashi. My wife ended up buying jeans which were like 70% off and some branded bags too.
We came in from Roppongi so taking the train makes the most sense. You need to take the Hibiya Line from Roppongi to Hatchobori which is about 7 stops away (JPY170). You need to get out of the Metro and walk to the JR Line Hatchobori Station. There you take the Keiyo Line from Hatchobori to Kaihimmakuhari (JPY550).
When you arrive at the Kaihimmakuhari Station and exit (south exit), take a left and walk out and you will see the Outlet.
Plenty of stores to choose from in 4 neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood is two stories and has a good mix of stores.
When you are hungry, you may walk over to Plena Makuhari - there are several restaurants over there too.
As I said before, it is not overly crowded so that is a plus as you don't have to jostle with bus loads of tourists.
Overall a good trip.

I have been to japan several times, this time, I came here for the Tokyo Game Show.It was a nice outlet, and the whole great shopping experience was ruined by 1 Adidas Japanese clerk at the checkout counter. It became the worst japan traveling experience I have ever had.
The male Adidas clerk talked gently, but he slammed my product on the counter, the way he packed it's just rude. His gentle voice cannot cover his action.I only stayed in the shop about 10 mins and tried out about 4 tees. I don't think I did anything rude or impropriate to make him angry like that.
The problem is I speak Mandarin. I came from Taiwan, and yes and sorry I only speak English, Chinese and Portuguese.I left the shop and went to the tourist center to accuse what just happened.
The tourist center was marked they were trilingual to help tourist around the world, but they can only speak Japnese. How sad that is.
I know mandarin speaking tourists are sometimes infamous, but you still can't tar them with the same brush.I would never imagine racism could happen in Japan, Tokyo. It did happen. This is racism, even we are all Asian(which is lol), we are just speaking different languages.
The worst japan traveling experience I have ever had.
三井Outlet is in Taiwan too. The manager section of the outlet should be aware of this, this will bring you very negative image.

It's a small outlet where price is around 20-40% off the normal price, it's quite small and you can finish visiting all the shops within 2-3 hours. But since Chiba is such a "quiet" place, this is probably the only place to shop... but there are many nice restaurants nearby... where the price of the food is excellent.

This is a worthy trip. Although it took around 30 mins from kannai station by JR but it was worthy. The place is huge, full of brands & food courts. Its a children friendly place too. Outside the outlet u can find a big outlet for GAP & other brands too.

If you have been to the US outlets, this is nothing in comparison.
Prices for the US brands are definitely much higher than in US.
We came because we were in the area. If not, it is not worth the trip if you are not near.

Shopping like everywhere else is a hit and miss. If there is something you are looking for and its cheaper than your home country you will say the place is good, if not you would say this shopping mall is lousy. All I can say is if you like to pass your time doing window shopping and find something you like at a good price and find that a bonus, this is the place for you. I personally manage to buy goretex adidas shoe for S$75, underarmour compression top for S$20. Northface merino wool hiking socks for S$7.
