Glorious & green, Mihama-En is a beautifully-cultivated Japanese traditional garden. It costs a mere ¥100 for entry & you can stay for as long as you please.
If you're seeking a quiet place in your soul, look no further!
My summertime visit on a beautiful day turned up everything from brides to butterflies - with a lovely stretch of quiet meditation time in the middle. I also stopped at the Japanese traditional tea house for tea and a sweet. You buy the ticket for this, ¥500 from the same office where you pay to enter the garden,
Mihama-En REALLY is a breathtaking display of the highest gardening skill, brought to life with love and care. I hope you are fortunate enough to stumble upon it, or better yet. make it a destination!
Located in a beautiful part of Chiba, it
really does feel like you stepped into compete seclusion and out of the city. RELAX & ENJOY!

We're so thankful we found this, just a 5 minute walk from our hotel (APA). We've been twice and hope to return once more tomorrow morning. You can walk the garden trails for 100 yen, enjoy a wakeful bowl of matcha tea in the tea-house for 500 yen, and feed the carp for 100 yen. This is a wonderful way to see some of the "old Japan" and take a break from the hub-bub of downtown Tokyo. Drinking a bowl of green tea, refreshing heart-and-mind; fresh rain dapples the pond.
