The swamp is long and wide in the east and west, and is at the boundary between Kashiwa city and Abiko city, Chiba prefecture. There are walking paths around the swamp, and anyone can feel free to use for walking or jogging for free. As the wind passes through on the swamp, you'll feel a refreshing wind in summer. Furthermore, there are open spaces, so you can feel plentiful sunshine. Conversely, it means that you need attention to excessive sunburn.
The surroundings of the swamp are not all parks. Small parks are scattered around it, and other are quiet residential areas. Therefore, you have to make quiet outside of the park.

A large lake with surrounding park land, Teganuma offers around 15km of walking on good paths away from roads on the south side of the lake, and about another 8 or so on the north (Abiko) side. Highlights include the Kashiwa/Abiko Fireworks Festival in the summer, which is held on the lake.

Teganuma is very nice place for running or cycling. Its around 5km around the pond and we can see many swans and other many kinds of birds, and especially we can see Mt. Fuji when it is fine day in autumn and winter.

This park would be great for kids. There are several play areas, miniature train to ride and nice lake to walk around or rent a paddler to ride on. However the park was nearly empty. I'm not sure whether it was only because of the hot Japanese weather.or radiation concerns. I visited the park last October as well and at that time as well it had very few people around.
