We enjoyed this workshop very much. You apply stencil stickers on the glass of your choice (you pay separate fee for the glass) and eventually use a sand blaster to etch the glass. The final result was awesome. We will be displaying the glasses we made at home! Great experience. Memories made for a lifetime! A must do in Sapporo.

There are 4 main kinds of visitors The tour groups, locals, passers by and serious buyers The serious buyers would have very nice expensive pieces to mull over buying The tour groups don't need more than 15 mins It's that kind of place Next to food and musical boxes, glassware is it in this touristy area of Otaru

KITAICHI Glass OTARU is so famous. They have many shops, branch and Museum etc. One of them, At its HANAZONO branch(shop), they have a class " SandBlasting" There are 2 courses. One is Course "raku‐raku" and the other is Course "okonomi". We could really enjoy Course "okonomi" by making our original Glasses and accessory case. It was the first experience for us. First, we choose a small glass in the shop. For example, wine glass, dish, glass, accessory case etc. They have an detail description about process by HP. (With English description and photo) http://www.kitaichiglass.co.jp/experience/sand.html We choose a cups and accessory case ,made many kind of original paper patterns ,cut them ,put them on the glasses, polished the glasses with sand, and wiped. As we made many kind of original paper patterns,it took more than 3 hours. ( usually 2 hours) But because we concentrated on it very much, we did not notice that three hours had passed. We worked forgetting the time.We have created only one works in the world. A lot of fun. Try it!
