Located in The Former Takasabuto Natori Store, the building is one of the designated historic landmarks of Otaru City.
Now occupied by the Otaru Taisho Glass Palace, this place is filled with lovely pieces of glass works. Very creative and beautiful. Great for memories and souvenirs.

Otaru should also called Glass Town - it's products everywhere! Seafood market in good price for lunch with fresh seafood. It is a beautiful place.

There are many Taishou Glass stores in Otaru. My absolute favourite one is the Taisgou Glass (Sora) store. It features various stunning glass creations by artist, Mieko Noguchi. The theme is space/universe and you will see many wonderful art pieces with the sun, moon and the stars. I absolutely love this cozy little space/art studio.

After stepping to this place, we were kind of stuck there, because everything was so beautiful and so appealing. The staff was also very kind and patient with us for questions and suggestions. They also had some hands-on workshop, but we didn't have time to do crafts. In fact, Taishougarasu (Taisho Glass) had a few more shops through out the town, featuring different themes like utensil, decoration, space, etc. We were very impressive with different kinds of designs.

The building is old Japanese style. It sells a large amounts of intricate glass artworks, all of which are beautiful. If you are not into glass artwork (just like me), you don't have to spend time walking into the store. You can just stand across the street and take a photo of the building.

Taishougarasu shops are all around the main street in Otaru selling similar but yet different styles of glassware. Service was generally good and lots of different varities - candle holder, kitchenware, sake glass set and decortation items etc.

The famous museum concentrating on good quality glasswares was worth visiting by travellers. The displayed articles were nice but the sale prices were similarly on the high side. Due to limited time on our side, we could not attend any lectures and crafts class at site. Recommend to others while visiting Otaru.
