The monkeys are all kept in a enclosure made of concrete walls, and some old and (obviously) ill (and perhaps dying) monkeys are lying at the corners in a miserable state. Bigger, stronger monkeys are obviously bullying the weaker, smaller ones. It was pretty cold...More

this place is very sad, you could see that the monkeys were kept in a small enclosure that is way too small a place for so many of them. many had patches of fur missing, they look like they are pretty sick. the enclosure was...More

The brochures mislead as they don't show the true environment of snow monkeys which is concrete with one hot spring full of dark green water. The monkeys beg for food and the poor things look like they'd rather be anywhere but in this horrid enclosure....More

I've never seen something so sad, bad treating of the animals and they even charge for it! The monkeys are only on concrete, no place for hiding, no soft material on the ground, nothing! They look sick and sad!

Rather run down place, as the children's play area was out of service. Not worth the time to travel there (about 10-15min walk from the last tram stop Yunokawa) just to see monkeys in a hot tub.

From what I was told I was very excited to visit however, upon arrival I was very disappointed. The monkeys are in an enclosure and people throw food at them all day. Then going inside even though all the plants are labeled the actual building...More

I went there with my mon, who always watches the animal documentaries on TV. She is so familiar with the monkey social structure and even pointed out which baby monkey had the higher rank. I recommend this place if you visit Hakodate in winter season....More
