The Consulate building and its contents provide a good insight into the life of the British Consul and his family in mid 19th Century Hakodate. It contains a number of interesting colonial documents, furniture and other artifacts. It also contains a pleasant tea room cafe....More

Every time when we visited this old British Consulate, we did not bother to pay Yen300 as entrance fee to view the internal part of the structure but to secure our seats for high tea in the tea room on ground floor. It was really...More

This historic building is located along with other foreign style buildings. It is sad that the place is not being conserved well enough. The price to the exhibiting area is quite pricy. You could consider of resting for a cup of English tea before continuing...More

It's a nice building to look at but not the most impressive in the area from that era. I didn't bother paying the entrance fee because I'm not sure it'd be worth it.

This lovely little architecture, which blends well with its neighborhood and surrounding, has a cafe that serves various coffee drinks. The building itself has few things to look around, though you won't regret stopping by.

There was a British consulate in old days here. It is a museum knowing a history of Hakodate now. When it is July, many roses seem to bloom. The cafe has a menu of the English notation. A cafe is in the museum.Tea was very...More
