Efficient service every ten minutes to the top but lots of people crammed in. A whole tour bus. This spoiled the experience of going up though the views from the top were great. 360°. There was a shop and place where you could get coffee...More

Great view of Hakodate. When we went, it was very cold so remember to bring a jacket along! One of the spots to head to if you're in Hakodate.

By day, the views to the top of Mt. Hakodate were fabulous. I am sure night is even better. Hours 1000-2100, with later hours in the summer. Round trip fare 1280 Yen for Adults, 640 Yen for Child. The ropeway runs about every 10 minutes....More

Magical view of the city and the surrounding area both day and night. Night time is the best though, however it does get very crowded in the evening. Word of warning - during the winter months the slopping pavement from the tram stop to the...More

First off I highly recommend NOT going on Japanese holidays or peak season times because the crowds can get overwhelming! When they get busy expect waits of up to an hour to board, and the same to get down. When the lines are long you...More

Visited Hokkaido in Nov 2018, considered a low season for tourism as its in transition from Autumn to Winter. We are fortunate to able to still see some autumn leaves and trees during our road trip.

This is a typical tram ride up the side of a mountain. The view from the top is quite spectacular and provides quite a 360 degree view. There are various observation decks around the top. The building houses shops, places to eat, restrooms, etc. It's...More

You should be fine. When at the top, there is a viewing platform that has wheelchair access. You will get a great view at the top. The one thing to check for is the weather. When I visited, they had low lying fog which... More
