啄木通りの真ん中辺り

啄木通りと呼ばれる南大通りに沿って弁天浜までの間に24の歌碑が並ぶ、その真ん中辺りにあるのが、啄木ゆめ公園。下宿跡に近いことから名付けられたそうだが、歌碑と東屋があるに過ぎない何の変哲もない公園である。

南大通りを米町公園方向に歩くと

啄木の名前のついた可愛らしい公園が南大通りに面してあります。ここには「さいはての駅に下り立ち　雪あかり　さびしき町にあゆみ入りにき」の歌碑が２００１年に建立されていました。

啄木の歌碑マップの一つ「さいはての駅に下り立ち....」があります

釧路駅バスターミナルから一時間に1本と2本が隔時間で出ています。バス番号は1番でルートはたくぼく線〔釧路駅前-小奴の碑-弁天ヶ浜〕です。下車は啄木ゆめ公園前ですが、休み坂下車でも3分です。啄木ゆめ公園付近にはレトロな建物が残ってい停浪漫を感じます。

“さいはての駅に下り立ち　雪あかり　さびしき町にあゆみ入りにき”とこの地で詠んだ詩です。石川啄木は、釧路市内に27の詩基が残されています。一つ一つ全ての詩をかみしめながら観光するのも一興かとおもいます。
