お盆の時期に行ったので、半島までの道は草が延びきっていました。半島部分は、丁寧に草が刈られていて、壕の深さなどが分かるようになっていました。

アイヌ語の案内標記が目を引く砦の跡です。近くに縄文竪穴式住居跡も発見されています。他にも何ヵ所か砦跡が公開されているようです。気候の変化があったとはいえ、冬季はどうやって防寒していたのでしょうか？

春採湖畔にある

釧路市街地はずれ、春採湖の湖畔にある、チャシ(砦)の跡です。
入口に看板が立っています。
基本的にはあまり人が訪れないところです。

春採湖岸に突き出ているチャシの跡

　チャランケチャシは、釧路市にある春採湖の北岸、夏はボート屋さんが営業するすぐ横にあるチャシの跡です。チャシは、丸い半島のように春採湖に突き出ていて、中央は少し小高い丘のようになっています。
　すぐそばを、春採湖を一周するウオーキングコースが通っており、ジョギングやウオーキングをする人達がたくさんいます。アイヌの人達の貴重な史跡ですが、立ち止まってチャシに入る人はほとんどいません。
