The domestic terminal of New Chitose was chaotic, boiling hot (in February with everyone lugging snow gear around) and poorly managed.
There were no trolleys anywhere, and ANA check in staff were exceptionally slow and awful. I will do everything I can do avoid domestic transit here in future. I have flown out of the intentional terminal before and it was average.

I don't have many opportunities to use this place, but it's always crowded. It was a normal weekend, not a long weekend, but it was still crowded. This is probably because there are too many souvenir shops on the departure lobby floor. There are stores selling goods on the departure lobby floor at Haneda, but there aren't as many as here, and most of them are retail stores that stock a wide range of products, with almost no stores directly operated by manufacturers.

He stopped by to return to Haneda during the holidays. I was hoping the crowds would be a little better because it was a holiday, but that wasn't the case. There are still a lot of people. It seems that the SDF's air festival was Chitose on that day, and that may have had an effect.

New Chitose Airport is the gateway to Hokkaido. In the airport's terminal building, you'll find delicious food representative of Hokkaido scattered here and there, including the Hokkaido Ramen Dojo. In addition to ramen and sushi, there are also many popular sweets shops, so you can enjoy plenty of Hokkaido cuisine.
Aside from food, there are also mini theme parks with Doraemon and Royce, as well as hot spring facilities.

There are many restaurants in the airport, so you won't have any trouble killing time. In fact, you'll never run out of things to do. The fourth floor is Oasis Park, which has a movie theater and hot springs, the third floor is Gourmet World, which is mainly restaurants and a food court, and the second floor is Shopping World, which is mainly for souvenirs and shopping. You can see the planes from the food court on the third floor. When I used it in early September, it was crowded, so there was a line at the baggage check-in counter. The airport is large and there are many shops, so it was difficult to find the shop I was looking for. I wish I could have spent more time at the airport.

Visited on April 29th. It was during Golden Week, so it was certainly crowded, but not as crowded as I expected. There were probably not many customers leaving in the first three days. I was planning to have lunch before boarding the plane, but there was no line at the restaurant.

New Chitose Airport is a great place to eat, buy souvenirs, and do anything else. I think it's a great airport where you can explore for an hour or two. There are many options for food, including sushi, ramen, western food, and local cuisine. There are also many souvenirs for sale. There are so many different types of souvenirs for sale that it's hard to choose. It's a great airport.

Huge airport. Our guide said it was newly constructed. Lots of restaurants and shops before security check . But once inside the departure area , options become limited. Those with evening flights have the misfortune of having eateries closing earlier than expected.

Japan is clean. This airport is one of them. Japanese are well-organized and detail-oriented people. The airport was well managed. I went to the food court. I had a lot of choices such as ramen, sushi, etc. These were Hokkaido's specialties. But I chose Jingizukan. The food was amazing! Try it!
