Kozan Park is absolutely beautiful! I came here mainly to see the Pagoda, unaware of all the other gems in this park. First, the Pagoda is beautiful! The backdrop of the mountains and pond in front makes for great photos. The Temple here is just as gorgeous. After visiting the temple and pagoda, I recommend walking toward the cemetery to view the tomb and then walk down toward the old houses that are open for viewing. After my wife and I visited all the sites here, we sat on a bench and just enjoyed the beauty of the park. I hope to get back here during the fall, I expect it is quite lovely.

Kozan Park is a highlight of Yamaguchi and a must-visit for tourists. Rurikoji Temple, which is known for 5 stories pagoda, Chinryutei, Rozando and Mori Family’s graveyard are all located in this park. You should not hustle, but just relax and enjoy the nature. That is what I recommend. As I visited, cherry blossoms were very beautiful.

The park is not too big. If you come in from the west end of the park you'll go up the echoing path and into the cemetery where the founding family of Yamaguchi is buried. The acoustics are pretty cool. Then make your way to the temple and the pagoda. The park is very pretty at any time of the year.

The pagoda is simply elegant and beautiful in the park. It's one of the most histrical buiding in Yamaguchi prefecture. Admission free. I stayed in Hotel Active! close to Shin-Yamaguchi station(Shinkansen exit), and can go there from the bus stop of Shin-Yamaguchi station(North exit) to Kencho-mae (in front of Prefectural Office Building). About 40 minutes ride (Not so frequent bus services, maybe). 10 minutes walk from the bus stop to the park. On the way there is a temple Toshun-ji, which is also histrical one. But be careful when there is a white dog. It's really dangerous..Actually I was attacked by it even if I just watched it..so surprised!

There is a building called "chinryu-tei" in the park.
Facility feel the dawn of Japan.
Location was more than 150 years ago, the branch point of Japan.

1860s.
There was a civil war in Japan state.
This building is one of the places that has signed an important alliance.
It is said that "Satcho alliance".
The Satcho, it is the Kagoshima Prefecture Yamaguchi Prefecture.
But it was not an easy thing.
Yamaguchi and Kagoshima, because there is that you have a war once.
For the future of Japan, they signed a hand.

Admission is free.
The wonderful old Japanese architecture.
The five-story pagoda is visible through the window.
It is well-known building.
I was able to relax in this place.

This is another place to be amazed at the craftsmanship of Japanese builder. The 5 tier pagoda was beautiful to look at. Strolling through the well manicured garden was very refreshing and calming.
