Earlier this month I spent several days stuck in Shin-Yamaguchi due to major delays on the Shinkansen. Desperate, tired and miserable I made my way to the tourist office (the one towards the bus end of the station, next to 7/11) and things suddenly got better. Their excellent English speaking staff made calls until I found somewhere to stay, and assisted me in getting there. The next day, when trains were further delayed, they helped me with adjusting plans, and genuinely provided friendly company for what would have otherwise been an incredibly boring wait. Again, I am l grateful for both the entertainment and support provided by the lovely people at this office. You made what would have otherwise been an impossibly dull experience, actually okay!
