寺町界隈の和菓子屋さん巡り

松江は茶道が盛んで、老舗の和菓子屋さんがたくさんあります。
中でも、松江駅の北西の寺町という辺りには
（松江城とかは、橋を渡ってもう少し北の地域になります）
有名な和菓子店が幾軒もあります。

松江で特徴的なのは、お城に献上していた「菜種の里」「若草」「山川」というお菓子は
どのお店も共通して作っていて、
それでいてお店ごとにも微妙に味わいに違いがあり
食べ比べができる楽しみがあったりします。

もちろん、上に書いた３つのお菓子以外にも、各お店オリジナルの和菓子がありますから
空港や駅の売店にもたくさん和菓子は売っているけれど
実際にいろんなお店を訪ねてみると、その種類の多さに見ているだけでも楽しさが増します。

三英堂さんは、伝統的な和菓子以外にも、カステラも美味しいです。

三英堂さんから少し北に歩いた所に公営の駐車場がありますから、
車を止めて、歩いて何軒か回ってみるといいと思います。

不昧公三大銘菓の「菜種の里」が手に入るのはここだけだそうです。

不昧公三大銘菓のうち、「若草」、「山川」は、それぞれの和菓子店が、それぞれの味で謹製しているそうですが、残りの「菜種の里」だけは、このお店でしか謹製出来ないそうです。（すなわち、三大銘菓を詰め合わせ出来るのは、このお店だけということになります）

美味しい和菓子

島根にある、和菓子のお店だそうで、銀座三越の催事に出店されていて、気になり行ってみました。
今回、『松韻』というお菓子を購入。
ゴマがまぶされた小倉あんと求肥の和菓子でして、上品な甘さで美味しかったです。
手土産に喜ばれると思います。

阪急の全国銘菓で

日本の銘菓選に、松平不昧公が命名した和菓子を手がける老舗店の、季節限定(3~4月)でよもぎ野が販売されていた。美味しそうなので買ってみた。見た目は、鶴屋吉信の京観世みたいに、渦巻き型。新鮮なよもぎと山芋を使った蒸し生地に、大納言小豆を、渦巻き状に包んでいる。山芋が入ってるので、ねっとりした感じといい、大納言小豆の食感との相性よく、程よい甘さで美味しかった。機会ががあれば、お店に行ってほかのも見てみたいです。

そば饅頭

松江駅から寺町はちょっと歩けばすぐ。その寺町の一角に小さな店構えの和菓子屋さんがあって、それが三英堂。間口は狭いですが、奥行きはあります。そば饅頭をいただきましたが、そばの香りがけっこういい。出雲そばの地だけのことはあるでしょう。

松平不昧公の命名したお菓子をつくる老舗のお店で、菜種の里という押し菓子はここのみ。近くの彩雲堂、風流堂の本店と比べるとかなりこじんまりし、和室やお庭などもありませんでした。
