復元ではなく、ずっとこのままの姿

国の登録文化財・戊辰史跡。入館料無料。天明年間 (1781～1789)に建築され、玉島を領した、備中松山藩主の御座所にもなっていた、柚木家の邸宅。維新の戦火を免れ、出来るだけ手を加えずに、当時の姿を遺しています。玉島地区の景観保存の推進並びに、市民の共用及び文化の向上を図ることを目的として、国の登録文化財として保存されているそうです。どちらかといえば感性は鈍い方で、「へー」とか「ほー」ぐらいの感動しか持ち合わせておりません。ですが、この邸宅の玄関から一歩足を踏み入れた途端、周波数が合ったのか、まるで波風が一切立っていない水面のように、心の奥がすーっと落ち着きました。殿の間であぐらをかいて、縁側で中庭を見つめて。展示資料とか一切ありませんが、この空間にいるだけで満足でした。

とても静かで落ち着いた場所です。
釘隠しが、兎の形をしていて岐阜の高山陣屋のものととてもにていました。備中松山藩主の小堀遠州になにかゆかりがあるのでしょうか。

生涯学習施設と史跡

　柚木家は備中松山藩に諸役として仕え、藩主が巡回の際は柚木家に宿泊するのが常だった。そのため、西爽亭は藩主が宿泊する意匠を整えており、それが現代によく残されている。入場は無料。西爽亭以外の部分は生涯学習施設で、使用は有料だ。

レトロな商店街の散策のつもりでプラプラと歩いていた時に道付けました。
奥の方の建物は荒れていましたが、通りに面した場所は昔の風情がそのまま残っていて映画村のようでした。

雰囲気のある邸宅

倉敷市のコミュニティスペースとして使われているようです。木の重厚な雰囲気がとてもステキ。ただしても寒いので防寒が必要です。

御成門

御成門の屋根には、四隅に鬼瓦が置かれていて、見ごたえがありました。江戸時代中期の庄屋建築で、立派です。大切に保存されていました。小さい駐車場があり、入館も無料でした。
