A smallish winery but they have a wide variety of wines and brandy using the grape of Alexandria. They also have juices like peach. Prices are reasonable, starting from around 16500 yen for a small bottle. We tried the brandy but it was a tad young. The muscat grape ice cream is unusual and pretty tasty.

I am no stranger to wines and their processes from field to table. I have tasted raw, working, and finished wines for many years. I have tied Vines, harvested and crushed grapes and consulted those who were working the New and tanked blends. Upon visiting Japan I was taken by suprise by the Funao winery. Their goliath sized Muscats were perfect on the clusters and the brick was just right by flavor somewhere between 17 and 22 to blend both a sweet or drier wine depending on how it would be stepped. I tasted both Muscats and the dry was still sweet enough even on the finish to still get the flavor of the grape on the backside. Alcohol evaporation was smooth and not irritating on both types. There was little evaporation on the side of the palate making this an excellent table wine to serve with chicken or fish. I would use the sweeter one for dinner and the drier one night beverage. The winery is immaculate in its presentation and maintenance. The lobby as tidy as the tank room. A fine place where even children can have some ice cream or snack. It is also dressed out with a fine selection of gifts for purchase. I dont wish to invoke MacArthur because I never really thought much good of him however I will invoke his Saying: " I shall return"
