Fukuyama/Tomonoura Half-Day Private Tour with Nationally-Licensed Guide

This value-packed trip with a nationally-licensed and experienced multilingual tour guide is a fantastic and efficient way to explore Fukuyama!

Fukuyama features plenty of spots where you can experience history, such as Fukuyama Castle completed 200 years ago in the Edo period. There is a port town called as Tomonoura, a beautiful spot of the Seto Inland Sea National Park. Worth visiting are the many buildings from the Edo period still standing in the nearby port town of Tomonoura. The numerous islands spread out over the quiet waters of the Seto Inland Sea makes a very beautiful scene.

Let us know what you would like to experience and we will customize a four-hour tour that's best for you!

Note*1: Please select your must-see spots from a list in the tour information to create your customized itinerary.
Note*2: The Nationally-licensed Tour Guide-Interpreter certification is issued by the Japanese government requires a good knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture and history.

To be fair it’s in the middle of winter. Ice cream shop and everything on the island is closed but I love it here anyway. A must come during the summer and warmer months.

It is a beautiful small island in Tomonoura. If you come to Fukuyama city, it is highly recommended to extend your trip to come here (30min by bus from Fukuyama station). From the ferry station, it takes only 5 min to come to this island. Seaside walking track is really nice and peaceful. Late afternoon walking was so nice with few people.

This little island is connected to Tomonoura by a ferry (5 minutes shore to shore). There's a hotel and restaurants so is possible to stay the night but even for a short break of a couple of hours is well worth a visit because of the great views and the calm atmosphere.

Great for exploring and the boat ride was fun. Has a few walking tracks to choose from. We picked a short walk to look at the "5-coloured rocks", it was very pleasant and calming for minds. We noticed some tourists booked to spend a night on the island, likely wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

Beautiful little island with two hotels, a few vending machines, and several baths. We took a hike in the morning to see the colored rocks, and tried to see the sea-fireflies, but because it was raining, no luck. I would bring snacks, because the food at the hotels, while fresh and high quality, may not be quite what westerners are used to.
