Sadoya is in easy walking distance of the North exit of Kofu station. My wife and I ventured there after visiting the remains of the castle. We really enjoyed the thorough tour of the winery even though we couldn't understand a word of what was said. The tour included the tasting of three wines and a discount coupon for buying wine at the shop. If you buy your tour early, you can wait in a nice air-conditioned room for the tour.

A nice very pleasant winery. Sadoya winery is one of the oldest in the Kofu wine region. During mid to late May they have their wine festival right out side the Kofu train station so it is very easily accessible. It is an opportunity to taste a lot of the local wines. Sadoya Winery apparently supplies the Imperial Household Agency wines for the Imperial family. Unfortunately the tour of the cellars is only Japanese. I was lucky to have been brought there with some locals who translated for me as we walked through the cellar. The tour was 300 yen so it wasn't too expensive. What was the highlight for me was...
