Stunning view & relax walk; no seat cable car moving too fast; Waterfall another highlight!

We reached on a sunny weekday about 11am, easy to get parking lot but got to walk a little bit far from the carpark. Ropeway open 9am-5.30pm, depart every 20min. Adult 650¥ (one... read more

Don't miss this! Truly one of the most beautiful scenic walks I have ever taken. Make sure you bring a 1 yen coin to tuck into the cracks for good luck. You'll know where when you find it. The locals all start at the bottom and walk up the mountain, which gives you better views as you walk, and climaxes... More

We reached on a sunny weekday about 11am, easy to get parking lot but got to walk a little bit far from the carpark. Ropeway open 9am-5.30pm, depart every 20min. Adult 650¥ (one way), 1200¥ (r.trip), child 600¥, my son 4 years old free! Ticket counter staff was friendly, ropeway queue was not long & move pretty fast. The cable... More

Took a bus from platform 9 from Kofu bus station and arrive at greenline bus stop shosenkyo 45min later. Views of the waterfall was pleasing and relaxing. Can have a small picnic there provided you bring your own tatamis. There are few souvenir shops along the way. The autumn foliages were beautiful. Great getaway from Kofu.

The waterfall was great, but the highlight for me was definitely the view from the top. Simply take the ropeway, and walk all the way left after you leave the station, a 20-minute walk will take you to the top of a rocky hill. The final steps lead you to the top of a huge rock, and you can have... More

We were in Kofu for 3 days, so on our 2nd day, we decided to explore the attractions close by. The no. 1 attraction recommended is this place. We caught a bus from Kofu station and it took us about 50 mins. to reach the top of the hill. We walked about a 4 km paved path going downhill. It... More

We walked up from the entrance and reached the top of the waterfall just before the last bus to Kofu. Along the way we were constantly stopping to take photos of the stunning views. It's awe-inspiring, the waterfall and the lake stemming from it. Gorgeous huge rocks, beautiful cliff edges and an abundance of vegetation and trees that fill your... More

If you want to get exposed to the natural beauty of Japanese nature, this is a great place to see springs, forest, watefall, mountains, view of Fuijisan, etc. Here is an extract from the Japanese tourist information about Shosenkyo: "Shosenkyo is a gorge which is in one of the most beautiful national parks in Japan located in the north part... It would be best to visit during autumn to fully enjoy the colored foliage but it was still an enjoyable walk at the start of summer. Take your time and try to let your imagination run by visualizing each of the rock formations. It would be useful if you can get a pamphlet from the tourist office at Kofu station... More

This was the reason we came to Kofu. We went all the way to the end of the bus route and walked all the way down to stop 1. It is a very easy walk and very beautiful. The information office at the station is worthless, but the hotel bell hop at the hotel was very helpful. We were going... More

Nice easy walk. Full name Mitake Shosenkyo, is outside Kofu City and is part of the Chichibu Tama Kai National Park. The road into the valley is an easy but long walk. There are nice rock formations along the way. According to the guide we walked slowly for 20 minutes out and 20 minutes back and it was only 1/15th... More
