Although this castle is “average” in comparison to the other castles in Japan, the large green manicured lawn is a nice place to sit and relax. We saw a bunch of kids having an exercise class in the huge lawn with their parents taking videos...More

We were lucky enough to visit here on a warm spring day when the gardens and lake were at their best. Great photo opportunities, easy to get to by tram or bus, or even walking if you have the time. Worth visiting while in Toyama.

It’s just 5 mins away from where I stayed! When in for a walk, very traditional Japanese Garden! Bridges, river and castle!

First and foremost, if you are driving, there's a carpark right underneath the castle ground. Very easy and convenient for visitors. The park was quiet when I visit on a weekday morning. Not really a big and grand castle but picturesque! An hour walk around...More

Toyama Castle Park was small but a great spot for an hour stroll with the attractive castle tower as the centerpiece. A nice garden and couple of memorial statues were worth a quick look during the walk around.

We had a bit of time of free time in the afternoon, so we decided to walk to the castle from the station. It was about a 15 walk. I was glad we went. The castle and park are beautiful. It was 400 yen to...More

Castle closes around 5 o'clock, so I couldn't go in anymore. The castle on its outside is quite nice but it's difficult to get some good view on it as there are many trees around it. The park was redecorated when I was there so...More

It is all reconstructed so not as genuine as others. Houses a musuem. View from the top is blocked by netting mesh. Recall expensive.

It's usally around 210 yen, but can be more if there is a special exhibition -- maybe 400 yen. We walked there from the main station. Note: there aren't any explanations in English...
