We picked up small souvenirs, but we spent more time tasting everything that was either brought in fresh from the fisherman, a local coffee house or even some sweet bean buns. Walking this areas and the side streets was a great way to pass the...More

I had fun looking at various shops on this street. It's a typical old-fashioned shopping street in Japan. There aren't very many high-end shops, but there are stores which have been there for years. It's a nice stroll.

Nice to see the business coming back to Atami after the renovation of the train station front. Five years ago it was a ghost town, but with the improvements slowly happening, visitors are returning.

This shopping street outside JR station is quite short in fact, but there are a number of shops on it selling local produce, from the dried fish and shrimps which are famous, to souvenirs and snacks. There are also a few restaurants too.

This is a shopping arcade just beside JR Atami station. Here you can find any souvenir of Atami such as Onsen Manjyu (a kind of cake). There are also some unpretentious restaurants.

In Atami, they are famous big eye red fish, dry seafood and their own souvenir. Try it. It's absolutely a great place to hang around.
