A small pond, having the snow mountain as background, just a common view, not stunning at all, would recommend China's Jiuzaigo far far far more...

This place was gorgeous. One of Central Honshu's gems. A truly mystical place although the crowds are large it is a place that induces one to reflect.

We stopped here for a short period for photo taking. The pond is surrounded by yellow coloured tree during this period and the mountain is covered by a bit of snow. Great for photos!

This is a very pretty lake, very blue with great views up to the mountains. The walk to get there is moderately flat and easy to do from Kamikochi in an hour.

Pond Taisho, which is rather a lake than a pond, is one of touristic attractions in Kamikochi. When it reflects the surrounding woods on water, it is enchanting. When a fog lies over the pond, it is really mysterious.

The Taisho pond is the first bus stop coming into Kamikochi. If you're here just for the day (or half), jump off here, rather than leaving this to the end, amin reason being that you might not get a seat on the buses leaving more...More

Such clear water - see the almost perfect symmetrical reflection of the snow capped mountain. Easy hike from here
