About
Nobody calls themselves a “Ninja”. Therefore, the image and history of Ninja are vague and filled with mystery. However, in almost every famous war, Ninjas were spoken to have played a big role in the battle. It was Ninja’s flawless sneak missions that led the then-smaller Samurai feudal lords to great victory. In most of the legendary battles in history where the army ran short in number, Ninja would sneak into the enemy's base and cause their army to fail. Sanada Masayuki was the well-known example of the warlords who were also a great coordinator of the Ninja unit. The Sanada clan, despite its army merely being of 2,000 soldiers, has defeated the Tokugawa clan whose soldiers nearly counted 8,000. Ninja Weapon Museum is the place where we exhibit many kinds Ninja's weapons as well as historical weapons such as Samurai swords. It is our mission to share the authentic history of Ninja and ancient Japanese weapons.

It is a shop on the outside with a sign it is also a museum. You buy your entrance ticket in the store and are asked if you want to throw some object like a ninja, you can choose the star version or the dart version. I recommend as it is just good fun. You have to take off your shoes to go to the first floor for the museum. It is small, there was a nice young lady who guided us through the exhibition and telling is more detail on what we saw, all in very well spoken english, It was nice to understand how ninjas exist, which tools they used and how their outfit changed with their tools and new developments. If you visit the ninja temple it is a short walk to the museum.

First you enter the gift shop and then you can buy tickets to the museum which is just upstairs. it only takes maybe 15 minutes but the guides were helpful and walked around with us to explain in English. At the end, we got to throw some ninja style weapons which was awesome. Our friend got a bullseye and earned a prize -genius idea! it is a scenic walk from the station to this part of town through the Nagamachi district.

I recommend to visit this museum. It is very interesting to see all the weapons used by Ninja. The best way to enjoy a museum is with some guide, and the explanation given during the visit was very useful. They answered all our questions. The shop is also very nice. .

Museum is on one floor, quite short but well stocked. You can throw shurikens (5 for ¥500) and needles (8 for ¥800) additionally. Which was quite funny The staff is great and super funny! The shop on the ground floor is nice

A really warm place thanks to the very welcoming team. The museum is small but each of the pieces presented is interesting and the staff takes the time to explain everything well and make us enter the fascinating world of ninjas. The workshop to test the shurikens is amazing!! It feels like it! Recommend without hesitation!

The museum is small but the visit was very pleasant thanks to a guy from the staff who carefully described several objects (among other things in perfect English!). We were very satisfied! If you want you can also throw ninja stars for a small surcharge! Overall recommended!

Really worth visiting. Amazing staff, they explain everything to you (in English, too)… great collection of authentic relics, super cool to see and you learn a lot about how ninjas really worked. The concealed weapons were my favorite (all sorts of weapons masked as ordinary merchant’s goods). At the end you get to throw some authentic throwing stars - definitely a highlight! Also very inexpensive:)

The 2nd floor museum was a small space, but the staff explained each exhibit Frank showed me around, not only explaining it, but also telling me all kinds of stories, which I enjoyed learning about. Thank you to the staff on the 1st floor for being so friendly! I'd love to hear it again ♪

Lots of great exhibits. The staff took the time to explain some of them to us personally. We then got to throw some shiraken (throwing stars) where I got a bullseye! Was great fun - highly recommend this museum if you have even a passing interest in the history of the Ninja.

This was a most interesting museum with a small but specialised set of exhibits. It was particularly helpful to have the English floor plan and guide, which explained the displayed items very well, including some insight into how they were used by ninja. Very ingeniously, it seems. The manger Takahiro spoke good English and took the time to answer our questions, which we appreciated.

We also enjoyed having a try at throwing the ninja stars. The gift shop had a number of good quality items at reasonable prices. I would recommend this museum for a visit by families with tweens or teens, anyone interested in weaponry, and anyone interested in Japanese history. The entry fee of JPY 500 for adults is very reasonable.

Definitely a must see if you’re in Kanazawa! The museum has a great collection of weapons/items. The staff are really friendly, can speak good English & seem passionate about the museum. A staff member gave us a tour and explained the various items, even taking some of it out so we were able to have a closer look. For an additional fee you can throw Shuriken (throwing stars) which I highly recommend!

I went to Kanazawa on my birthday as a pilgrimage to the Love Live! holy land. The voice actors who play the characters were there, so I wanted to go. There is an admission fee to the museum on the second floor, but you can take as many photos as you like. The explanations were given by a very knowledgeable older brother, and it was really interesting to listen to. I never thought I'd even be able to take a photo holding a weapon actually used by a ninja! I had fun trying out the shuriken. If I have the chance to go again, I'd like to try throwing a different type of shuriken.

Incredible experience to discover the art of subterfuge and ninja skill.

Very well preserved pieces and very detailed explanation by the owner, who is very kind and friendly. There is a guide written in English to have reference to the material on display.

Photographs are allowed and they even let you hold one of the weapons, always with the owner's permission.

Shuriken throwing for 1200 yen more. It is very worth it!

Small but worthwhile. We were in the area visiting Kutani Kosen Kiln and Nishi Chaya area which was much less touristed than Higashi Chaya. The Ninja Weapon museum sounded interesting. It was only a small museum but one of the staff members showed us some of the weapons and how they were used which was informative and interesting. For 300¥ more you can throw some stars at a board and be a ninja!

It’s a lot of fun to experience ninja darts! The museum displays ninja equipment, including clothing, weapons, props, poison, and armor. As well as the weapons used by ninjas, there are many types of weapons. The katana sword is very sharp and impressive. The muskets, darts, flying needles, and poisons are also applied, which feels very deadly. The long-handled weapons are very cleverly designed and feel very practical at the time. Overall a great experience!

Museum is small but has many ninja tools of display, not just weapons.

Staff are friendly and speak conversational English which gave me a very welcome feeling.

There's a range at the back of the shop where you can throw shurikens for a fee.

They also have a shop that sells interesting items that is seldom seen elsewhere.

Overall, a very worthwhile visit in Kanazawa.

I had a private tour with a lovely lady who's English was really very good. Alot of cool historical facts about the weapons and the lives and times of the ninja. The weapons are all authentic 400 + years old, getting to see them up close is a real treat. Well worth the visit. I recommend getting there early as the space is in a small historic building and might be difficult to get around and see everything when it's busy.

Awesome little museum in the heart of Kanazawa! The staff was amazingly friendly and even showed us around, explained details about the things and installations in the museum. The ninjastar throwing workshop was very funny too! Would recommend, the entrance fee is very okay too! The museum is quite small, keep that in mind. But actually that just made it more authentic since the museum is in an old Japanese house.
