The iconic Nakabashi Bridge is perhaps the most recognizable landmark of Takayama and is located on Enakogawa river, just 10 mins walk from Takayam station. It is widely featured on pictures on the Takayama festival, as festival floats are carried over it. During spring, the area around...More

Judging from photos, this bridge offers views of some attractive cherry blossom in season, and possibly of leaves in fall, but when we visited in May the vistas were ho-hum, and there is nothing to distinguish the bridge other than its red paint. You'll probably...More

This bridge was the meeting place for our tour after visiting the old town area. Except for its vermilion railings, the bridge is rather non-nondescript. However oh what a difference those railings make. It becomes a wonderful area to take photographs. Unfortunately the cherry trees...More

Takayama bridges are color coded which makes them easy to recognize and to allow us to know in which area we are in. Good picture taking spot.

You can never missed this red bridge when you are in Takayama. It is like the landmark of Takayama. We were there taking photos and enjoying the scenery of the Miyakawa River. Be sure to go to the other green bridge and grey one too.

This is located close to the old town and is a good photo spot as it overlook the river and has houses and building lining both sides of the rivers.

This is a bridge that connects to the old town. The bridge as one can see is coloured in red and thus easily spotted. Understand that it's pretty iconic here in takayama. A good place to take some nice pictures.
