We were just in Tokayama for 2 hours but J-Hoppers was very accommodating. They helped us to reserve a bus from Shirakawa-go to Toyama for the same day, making it possible for us to visit Shirakawa-go as well. Keith was giving our tour and he was great. Friendly and knowledgable, a joy to hangout with. He showed us many things including the markets, the largest shinto shrine, and the merchant district which has all been preserved. We enjoyed some free samples of sake from a brewery where his friend works and free miso soup samples among other things. We were both glad that we had this tour and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thanks Keith! Andrew and Elyssa

We had a great day with Bonnie. She met us at the bus station with our tickets and we all travelled together into the National Park - this saved us a lot of logistical planning time. She had our hike planned and we were able to enjoy the beautiful mountains and trails. The highlight was seeing monkeys playing beside the trail. After a full day of hiking, Bonnie offered to take us to the hot springs near the park entrance and even walked us to a local izakaya for our 10 year old’s birthday supper. Our kids loved learning some Japanese from her and she was well prepared having researched the local history and trail information...a great day!

We did the morning tour with Yamamoto. The tour was good fun with all information for the guests including the map and guidance required.Kanda Gussho house was a great experience and Sakura added its beauty. Yamamoto was really friendly to all members and tried to make the experience a memorable one for all. He also offered help to each of the guests on our way back to ask anything more that they wanted to do in Takayama. Our day tour from Takayama to Shirakawago was really good one. Would recommend this to any first timer.

We did a morning tour with J hoppers. The guide Mr Yamamoto is polite and eloquent. He was able to provide clear instruction and good recommendation for lunch when we were back to Takayama. We were the first group who reached the observatory and had the whole place to ourselves. The tour provided sufficient time. We spent about 90mins in the heritage site which was more than enough time for a leisure walk around the village. Do go for the morning tour if you can as is less crowded. The crowd of tourist swarm in when we were about to leave the place.
